Delta College is dedicated to assisting student veterans, service members, and military-affiliated students with their academic goals, so they are ready to enter the civilian workforce. The Veterans Services Office helps secure financial aid and provides support in a number of areas.

      Student veterans, service members, and military-affiliated students can contact Delta's Office of Disability Resources to start a conversation about assistance needed.

      Student veterans, services members, and military-affilitated students can contact Delta's Career Development Office to start a conversation about planning for their future after graduation.

    • Medical ServicesDelta College has partnered with Great Lakes Bay Health Centers to bring convenient healthcare services to our students. Most insurances accepted for services. Sliding fee scale available if uninsured. You may schedule an appointment by calling 989-907-2761. Walk-ins accepted.

      Meet fellow veterans, find support and get involved by joining this student organization. DMCA is committed to engaging military student, dependents, and their advocates by supporting the successful transition to the classroom and the community.
    • Student Veterans Lounge
      You'll find student veterans hanging out in the Student Veteran Lounge, located on the main campus in A008.

      The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency is available to answer questions you have regarding veteran benefits and assistance.
    • Michigan Veteran Friendly Employers
      The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) has identified Michigan employers who are committed to military veteran recruitment, training, and retention practices. The MVAA has provided a full list of their Michigan Veteran Friendly Employers.  This information may also be found in the WhyMI mobile app.
    • Michigan Veteran Resource Service Center
      The Michigan Veteran Resource Service Center can assist with navigating benefits, identifying community-based resources, and obtain documents like your DD-214. The Recovery Village Columbus
The goal of the Recovery Village Columbus is to spread awareness of substance abuse and to be an informational resource for those impacted by alcohol and drug dependence.  The Recovery Village Columbus provides recovery services and resources specific to veterans' needs to promote physical and mental health.

The Detox.com team provides access to free resources for the community to find self-help with substance addiction through detox and other mental health strategies. How Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Affects Sleep is an article that summarizes some of the ways that PTSD disrupts sleep and provides information on ways to improve sleeping habits. The article also provides links to additional resources to support mental health and wellness, and about PTSD.

Assistive Technology
Verizon has created an assistive technology toolkit for veterans with PTSD that examines different digital therapy tools as well as provides resources that can be used by veterans with PTSD alongside treatment.

Tech Policy and Education (TPE) Council
The mission of the TPE Council is to “… support and promote organizations that help advocate and educate the population on issues relating to digital policy, literacy, inclusion, and safety.”  The TPE Council provides access to guides on how military personnel and veterans can save money on internet subscriptions, mobile plans, and other technology by taking advantage of a variety of military discounts. This resource details which internet service providers, cell phone carriers, and other organizations can assist US military personnel in obtaining low-cost technologies and services.

Disability Compensation, Pension and Dependency & Indemnity Compensation (DIC) Support
The Disability Compensation, Pension and Dependency & Indemnity Compensation (DIC) Support is a guide to free resources available to veterans to help aid in fighting these illnesses (e.g., mesothelioma) and to identify how to determine eligibility for compensation through the VA. The resources are veteran specific and support both the patients and their families.  Interested students may contact VA-accredited claims agent, Carl Jewett, LCDR, US Navy, Retired at 844-VET-MESO (844-838-6376).

The Mesothelioma Center
The Mesothelioma Center is an advocacy group that provides information on asbestos-related disease and support for those suffering from them.  The group provides information on Mesothelioma risk factors and those risk factors that impact veterans.  Specialized resources are available for veterans that include free VA Claims assistance to veterans exposed to asbestos, a monthly online support group where topics pertaining to cancer patients are discussed, an on-staff doctor and nurse available to answer any medical-related questions, and Patient Advocates who work 1-on-1 with individuals to help find local doctors, treatment centers and support groups.

Mesothelioma.net
The Veterans and Asbestos support guide provides information about abestos-related disease and those benefits that veterans may be eligible for.  Mesothelioma.net provides veterans with treatment information, access to 24/7 online support, financial aid, in addition to connecting veterans to other resources.

Asbestos.com
Asbestos.com is an advocacy site that provides assistance to veterans including free claims help, peer support groups, access to medical professionals for health questions, and access to patient advocates.

LegalFinder
LegalFinder helps to create free informational resources for veterans. Their services include free legal case consultation as well as referrals to community agencies.  Their guide discusses points including why disabled veterans experience a lack of resources, discrimination against disabled veterans, important rights for disabled veterans, and national resources that help to bridge the gap.

LawFirm.com
This resource provides free resources to veterans about the Mesothelioma and the Camp Lejeune water contamination - in addition to other topics. Included in the educational material is information about legal guides, and breaking news.

Camp Lejeune Claims Center
Due to the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022, the Camp Lejeune Claims Center is providing information about the impact of the water contamination on those stationed in Camp Lejeune from 1953 and 1987.  Additionally, the team provides financial aid and VA benefits eligibility information.
