About Delta's Program

Amazing facultyAt Delta, you get small classes, professors who see your potential and resources to help you succeed. Delta professors are here to teach. And, they're really good at it.
Professional licensure
Program completers are eligible to take a national group fitness and personal fitness certification exams that is recognized in all states. Please contact program coordinator for further information.
During the two-year program you will personal train clients for eight consecutive weeks, perform dietary and nutritional counseling, lead various forms of group exercise and administer fitness assessment tests to multiple individuals.
Prior to graduation, you will complete a 300-hour internship in a variety of settings including fitness centers, athletic training and more! With this experience and the skills you'll develop in your management classes, you'll be ready for a great job!
Delta College is the only community college in the United States that is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Associations' Education Recognition Program.
The NSCA Education Recognition Program (ERP) is the first step in laying the foundation to ensure excellence for students in the classroom, as well as long-term professional success after graduation. The ERP recognizes and distinguishes schools with strength and conditioning or personal training curricula that prepares students for NSCA certification exams.
Want more experience? Consider joining the Health Fitness Specialist student club. It offers free group exercise classes to the community. Students also train clients and offer nutrition education for free to the public.

Life is busy. But that shouldn't get in the way of your education. Delta offers classes at night, on weekends and online to make taking classes and getting that degree easier. Plus, Delta has three centers so you can take classes even closer to home.
At the Teaching Learning Center, located in the Library, we offer tutoring on a wide variety of subjects, and help with developing study and learning skills. Most tutoring is on a walk-in basis but we do have some online tutoring options.
Best of all, it's free for currently enrolled Delta students. Just another way we demonstrate our commitment to helping students succeed.

Our students have a pass rate of 100% when taking the National Strength and Conditioning - Certified Personal Trainer exam.
