The Fitness & Recreation Center at Delta offers a wide variety of group fitness classes and swimming lessons. Spots fill quickly, so register early!

What is Fitness On Demand?

Fitness on Demand (FOD) is a computer-based, high definition video system that offers a wide variety of popular workouts for our members to experience at their convenience. The system is available to members anytime during our hours of operation when classes are not scheduled with live instructors. Members will also have the option to participate in pre-scheduled virtual classes, with more than 250 unique programs available. Varied classes include yoga, barbell and weight training, Pilates, kickboxing, HIIT-style, studio cycling, a variety of dance-based exercise formats and more.

Starting Monday, October 3 at 5pm

Monday through Thursday at 5pm, the Fitness and Rec Center will be holding group classes in the Fitness on Demand Studio. 

  • Monday night - Yoga Classes
  • Tueday Night - Weight or Suspension Classes
  • Wednesday Night - Spin Classes
  • Thursday Night - Aerobic Classes

Day Camps

Fall Day Away Camp

When: November 25, 2022 – 8am to 4pm
Fees: $45

Drop the kids off for a fun filled day of activities at the Delta College Fitness and Rec Center! There will be a quick water safety lesson and some play time in our pool in the morning followed by an afternoon of crafts, obstacle courses, and learning to play sports! Gym games will be age appropriate. Comfortable clothing and tennis shoes are recommended. The pool features spray fountains, current channel, water slide (48” height minimum), and diving board, so there is something fun for everyone. Please make sure to bring a swim suit and towel. Children should bring their own lunch. Space is limited and all children must be pre-registered before November 23, 2022.

Adult Group Classes

Thursday Lunch Crunch 

Come join our Lifelong Wellness Students as they teach different types of group exercise classes.   Spots in the class will become a first come, first serve basis! 

Fees: Free for members and non members!

Where: Classrooms may vary, so please ask our friendly desk staff for information

Aqua-workout

Class covers 35 minutes of aerobic activity, 15 minutes of strength training and 10 minutes of flexibility. Due to the buoyancy of the water, there is less stress placed on the joints. You do not need to know how to swim to participate.

12-Class Punch Card: $42 members, $84 non-members
Drop-In: $5 members, $9 non-members

Monthly passes can be purchased online. Punch cards and drop-in must be purchased in person at the service desk. To receive the member rate, participants must have a membership that is current until the end of the month. If the membership will expire during the month, it must be renewed at the time of registration. If attendance falls below four participants for two weeks in a row, the class may be canceled.

H20 Bootcamp

Get ready to boost your heart rate with several circuits concentrating on strength, cardio and agility using foam weights, noodles and whole body movements in the shallow end of the pool! You do not need to know how to swim to participate.

Deep water exercise

Class is held entirely in the deep end of the pool, providing a very high intensity, low impact workout. Buoyancy belts are available, but a comfort level with deep water is recommended.

Aquatic exercise for Arthritis

This Arthritis Foundation Aquatic program is comprised of activities that help reduce pain and improve overall health. Suitable for every fitness level, the classes are held in a friendly, supportive environment that encourages social interaction among participants.

Youth Programs

Little Squids, 6 month to 2 years

For children six months to two years old, with parent. Focus is on water adjustment, water entry, arm movements, underwater exploration, plus water safety for parents. Non-toilet trained children must wear a swim diaper. Parents must be in the water at all times.

For the pre-school age child who is ready to learn to swim without their parents in the water.

Jellyfish (Beg. I)
Water adjustment, buoyancy, assisted back and front floats, underwater exploration and personal safety.

Sunfish (Beg. II)
Floating, buoyancy, breathing skills, arm strokes and personal safety.

Starfish (Inter. I)
Improve coordination and endurance with crawl strokes.

Youth, 6 years & older  

Sea Turtles (Beg. I)
Water adjustment, buoyancy, assisted back and front floats, underwater exploration and personal safety.

Octopus (Beg. II)
Floating, buoyancy, breathing skills, arm strokes and personal safety.

Stingrays (Inter. I)
Improve coordination and endurance with crawl strokes. Elementary Backstroke will be introduced.

Sailfish (Inter. II)
Develop confidence in skills and improve endurance. Breaststroke, sidestroke and basic turns introduced.

Dolphins (Adv. I)
Coordination and refinement of the key strokes. Butterfly, open turns and underwater skills introduced.

Whales (Adv. II)
Skill proficiency, refining strokes to swim with more ease, efficiency and power over a great distance.


Due to staffing issues we will not be offering upper level classes at this time.

Semi-private lessons

Make your own class, with one instructor and two to four students. Lessons consist of 45 minutes of instruction and 15 minutes of practice and recreational time. Participants should be at the same level.

If you would like semi-private lessons and do not have anyone to join you, let us know and we will try to pair you up with others wanting to do the same thing.

Fee
$98 per person for seven classes. No discount given for members.

Lesson cancellations require a minimum of six-hour notice in order to be made up, and only one make-up is allowed per session. Payment is required at the time of your first lesson.

Private lessons

Schedule time to receive one-on-one instruction with one of our swimming instructors. Lessons consist of 45 minutes of instruction and 15 minutes of practice and recreational time.

Fee
$25 per person for one class, or seven classes for $126 per person.
