Student Employee Grievance Procedure
Employment problems may arise between students and employers. In the event a student experiences an employment related issue, they are encouraged to follow the resolution process outlined below. This process can only be used while the student is actively employed.
Step 1
The student should meet with his/her immediate supervisor to discuss the employment
related problem. An earnest attempt should be made by both parties to resolve the
issue.
Step 2
If the student does not feel the situation has been satisfactorily resolved, he/she
should discuss the concern with the department head. An earnest attempt should be
made by both parties to resolve the issue.
Step 3
Should the student still feel the problem has not been satisfactorily resolved, he/she
may discuss the concern with the Dean of Students and the Director of Human Resources
or their designees. Once the meeting has taken place, the Dean of Students and the
Director of Human Resources or their designee will provide a final written decision
on the matter within 10-business days.
This process shall not prevent any student from contacting an outside agency or instituting
legal processing.
