Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) recognizes and encourages educational excellence among two-year college students. To achieve this, Phi Theta Kappa provides opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual environment through the exchange of ideas, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.

Established by Missouri two-year college presidents in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership and service programming.

Today, Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honors society in American higher education with more than two million members and over 1,200 chapters located in all 50 United States and on five continents. The American Association of Community Colleges recognizes Phi Theta Kappa as the official honor society for two-year colleges.

Membership is extended through invitation from the Phi Theta Kappa chapter at Delta College. Invitations are sent at the end of each semester to those individuals with 12 or more credit hours of college work at Delta College and a 3.5 (or higher) cumulative GPA for courses taken at Delta College.
