Instructor Profile Widget

The Profile Card widget provides in-line authoring allowing instructors, facilitators, tutors, and other users to introduce themselves to learners. Your organization may refer to it as the Instructor widget, Teacher Profile widget, Meet your Teacher widget, or the Meet your Instructor widget.

Users with the appropriate permissions can upload a photo, add a brief bio, and provide links to social media profiles. Use of this widget is intended for instructors who may otherwise not have the permissions to modify course homepages. Editors can change the contents of each field from the homepage itself; fields that are empty will not display in the widget.

When do you use this widget?

You will use this when you want to introduce yourself to your learners.

Put important details at the forefront, like your photo, social media details, and other important bio info.

Best practices

Add your office hours. Even if you’re virtual, let learners know times they can schedule a meeting or times that you’ll open a conference call they can join.

Edit instructor profile image:

1. 1. Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the widget and click Widget Properties or Edit (old version).
   2. Add a Heading line; Instructor Profile.
   3. Add a Display name; this should be your name.
   4. Add an image; click the upload icon (arrow with cloud) to select an image from your computer.
   5. Add a heading line similar to About Me.
   6. Add content about who you are, office hours, class times and so on.
   7. If you remove the Facebook link and Twitter link, the icon will be removed from the widget.
