Surgical Technology
Delta's Surgical Technology program started in 1974. We believe our vast experience over such a long time period is one reason why our students have high pass rates on the Certified Surgical Technology Exam. Delta consistently averages higher pass rates than the national average pass rate.
The program is two semesters long, starting in the fall. It's a cohort program, so students come in as a group and take their classes together from their first semester until their last. Students have more than 540 clinical hours and have a variety of hospitals/surgical centers to choose from to complete their clinical assignments.
The Surgical Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs www.caahep.org upon the recommendation of Accreditation Review Council on Education for Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting www.arcstsa.org.
Surgical Technology Admission
When you've completed the requirements listed in the catalog in the notations section on the Surgical Technology page, you will apply to the program through a process called validation. The registration office will certify that you've completed the required prerequisite courses and qualifcations. You are guaranteed a spot to begin the clinical portion of your program once you've been validated and you complete the annual clinical registration steps.
