Nepotism
Delta College is committed to employment and advancement based upon the qualifications and merit of individuals. Therefore, Delta employees that have a family* and/or amorous relation** with a potential or fellow employee shall not make or influence decisions regarding that person concerning the following: appointment, retention, tenure, work assignments, promotion, salary, benefits, working conditions, discipline or evaluation.
In such a case the person making the decision or recommendation will recuse himself or herself, or his or her supervisor will delegate the responsibility to another appropriate individual.
* Meaning spouse or amorous relation, mother, father, son, daughter, sister, or brother of the employee, or spouse/amorous relation of any of those individuals and like relations of the spouse/amorous relation of the employee.
** Defined in College-Wide Board Approved Policies Board Policy 8.002 - Consensual Amorous Sexual Relationships Policy.
