Dress Standard - Administrative/Professional and Support Staff

Summary

The minimum dress standard for staff is “business casual.”  There may be some departments in which either higher or lower standards may be appropriately established by the Executive Staff member.

Procedures

The following procedures apply for dress standards:

    1. Executive Staff are responsible for ensuring that the minimum standards are communicated to and maintained by all staff in their departments/areas.
    2. Executive Staff are responsible for establishing any deviations from the standard ("business casual") that are appropriate for their departments/areas.
    3. Employees should wear their Delta College name tag/badge on a daily basis, to allow those with questions to identify resource people who could provide assistance.
    4. College-wide special dress days must be submitted to the President’s Cabinet for approval. The information must include minimum dress standards for the day, as well as plans to provide informational signs in or near offices heavily visited by students and the public.
    5. Jeans are not a regularly accepted attire. However,  Fridays will be considered “casual days.” All employees will be allowed to wear jeans (work appropriate with no holes) and Delta College logo or business casual attire to work on Fridays and other designated days.  From time to time, your office may host special guests and/or events on a Friday. When this occurs, we ask that you exercise good judgement and wear attire appropriate for the occasion (i.e. no jeans).
